Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A number of secondary schools in Barnsley are seeking confident and knowledgeable Science Teachers to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, following pre-set schemes of work or departmental planning. You will ensure students remain engaged, challenged and supported in their learning while maintaining strong classroom management.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and adapt lessons where required to meet student needs

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Assess and monitor student progress

  • Maintain a positive and focused learning environment

  • Support students in developing subject knowledge and understanding

  • Work collaboratively with departmental staff when needed

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

  • Strong subject knowledge in Science

  • Experience teaching or supporting learning in secondary schools

  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Professional, adaptable and reliable approach

  • Ability to engage and motivate students effectively
