Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sunderland
Pay rate: £95 -£115 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are searching for a dedicated Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to work in schools across Sunderland, providing tailored support to students with special educational needs.
In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised support, helping pupils engage with lessons and develop both academically and socially.
About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of needs, adapting your approach to suit individual learning styles and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Prime responsibilities of SEN TA:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist in implementing individual education plans and support strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
What we are looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, adaptable, and caring approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

- Provide an up-to-date CV with two recent references
- Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
