Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £190 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A range of secondary schools in Sheffield are seeking confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to provide consistent classroom supervision and support across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students stay on task with pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining classroom order, supporting learning continuity, and promoting a calm and productive environment across a variety of subjects.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole classes during teacher absence

  • Deliver pre-set work and ensure instructions are followed

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Maintain a calm, structured and focused learning environment

  • Support student engagement and task completion

  • Report any concerns to relevant staff where necessary

  • Ensure continuity of learning throughout the school day

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Confident, calm and professional approach

  • Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments

  • Reliable, flexible and proactive attitude

  • Commitment to supporting student learning and behaviour
