Job Title: Trauma Informed Practitioner
Location: Birmingham
Pay rate: £95-£120 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are searching for a compassionate Trauma Informed Practitioner to work in schools across Birmingham, supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma and require specialist emotional and behavioural support.
In this role, you will use trauma-informed approaches to build trusting relationships, reduce barriers to learning, and promote emotional regulation and resilience within a safe and structured environment.
About the role:
As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Your role will focus on creating stability, consistency, and positive engagement in education.
Key responsibilities of Trauma Informed Practitioner:
- Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to vulnerable pupils
- Use trauma-informed strategies to support regulation and wellbeing
- Build trusting, consistent relationships with students
- Support pupils in accessing learning and managing classroom expectations
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN teams, and external agencies
- Contribute to individual support plans and behaviour strategies
What we are looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people with trauma, SEMH, or additional needs
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice (training desirable)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with two recent references
- Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
