Trainee Cover Supervisor
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)

A supportive secondary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a confident and motivated Trainee Cover Supervisor to join their team. This Trainee Cover Supervisor role is ideal for individuals looking to gain classroom experience and develop their skills before progressing into teaching or further education roles.
The successful Trainee Cover Supervisor will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons and managing classroom behaviour in the absence of the class teacher. As a Trainee Cover Supervisor, you will receive guidance and support to build confidence in leading a classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Cover Supervisor:
- Supervising classes and delivering pre-set work.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged in their learning.
- Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
- Supporting pupils with questions related to the work set.
- Promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
The Ideal Trainee Cover Supervisor Will:
- Be interested in gaining experience within a school setting.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident, adaptable and willing to learn.
- Have the ability to manage behaviour effectively.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
- Have a fully checkable work history.
