Job Title: Qualified SENCO
Location: Sheffield (S9)
Salary: Up to £220 per day
Contract Type: Part-time (3 days per week), Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A secondary school in Sheffield (S9) is seeking a Qualified SENCO to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a non-classroom-based role, focused on coordination, strategy and oversight of SEND provision across the school.

About the Role:
As SENCO, you will oversee SEND provision across the school, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting staff to meet the needs of students with additional learning needs. This is a leadership-focused role with no direct classroom teaching responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate SEND provision across the secondary school
  • Oversee EHCP processes and statutory documentation
  • Liaise with external agencies and support services
  • Support and advise teaching staff on inclusive strategies
  • Monitor progress and outcomes for students with SEND
  • Ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice requirements
  • Contribute to safeguarding and student wellbeing processes
  • Develop and implement effective inclusion strategies

Requirements:

  • Qualified SENCO status (NASENCO or equivalent desirable)
  • Experience working within a secondary school SEND setting
  • Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
