Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day

A number of secondary schools in Sheffield are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to support classroom learning and ensure continuity of education during teacher absence.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and complete pre-set work. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education or those with experience working with young people in any capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during teacher absence across KS3 and KS4
- Ensure students complete set work and remain focused
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Maintain a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
- Support student engagement across a range of subjects
- Report any issues or concerns to relevant school staff
- Follow lesson plans provided by teaching staff
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, youth work or similar)
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Confident, adaptable and professional approach
- Ability to build rapport with secondary-aged students
- Reliable and consistent availability
