Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460–£600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
You will work closely with teaching staff to support students with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions, stay engaged, and make progress throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in lessons and activities
  • Implement behaviour and support strategies
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Monitor and report on student progress

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting SEMH or SEN students desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
