Job Title: Behaviour Support Staff
Location: Sheffield (S5, S9)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are searching for a motivated Behaviour Support Staff member to work with schools in Sheffield, including the S5 and S9 areas, supporting students who need additional guidance to manage behaviour and engage successfully in learning.

As a Behaviour Support Staff member, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide structured support for students, helping them build self-regulation skills, maintain focus in lessons, and thrive in a positive school environment.

Key Duties of Behaviour Support Staff:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with behavioural or emotional needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support students in developing self-regulation strategies.
  • Assist teachers in maintaining a calm and focused classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students to support wellbeing and engagement.
  • Monitor student progress and report concerns or improvements to staff.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student development.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural needs, is desirable.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and supportive approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and motivate students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
