SEMH Teaching Assistant – Spilsby (Full-Time)
We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive specialist school in Spilsby, supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time role and an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The Role
- Supporting students aged 11–16 with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
- Building positive relationships to help students feel safe, supported and engaged in learning
- Assisting the class teacher with lessons and behaviour support strategies
- Encouraging emotional regulation, confidence and social development
- Providing 1:1 and small group support where required
Requirements
- Full-time availability during school hours
- Previous relevant experience is preferred, such as:
- Teaching Assistant experience
- Support Worker or Care Worker roles
- Youth work or similar support roles
- Any relevant qualifications (e.g. TA qualification, childcare, health & social care, psychology or similar) are desirable
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
