Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day supply

Provide meaningful support to pupils with additional needs and help them access learning in a positive and inclusive classroom environment!

GSL Education are looking for compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Barnsley, serving the S70 and S71 areas. The Special Education Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TA) will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupils who require extra academic, behavioural, or emotional assistance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in adapting lessons and learning resources.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement in class.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

Requirements of SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Patient, supportive, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
