Cover Supervisor
Location: York
Salary: £90 – £110 per day
Contract: Flexible / Supply
Start Date: Immediate or February 2026
GSL Education are recruiting confident Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across York.
About the School
Schools across York offer supportive environments where Cover Supervisors play an important role in ensuring continuity of learning when teachers are absent. Staff work together to maintain a positive learning environment where pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons.
Responsibilities

Supervise classes during teacher absence

Deliver pre prepared lesson materials

Maintain positive classroom behaviour

Support pupils in completing assigned work

Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
Requirements
-
Degree or relevant education experience
-
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
-
Confidence managing a classroom environment
-
Interest in education or teaching
-
DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
