Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

GSL Education is currently seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Teacher to work in a welcoming school in Barnsley. This opportunity is ideal for a teacher who enjoys bringing science to life in the classroom and supporting students in developing curiosity, analytical thinking, and confidence in the subject.

About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across the science curriculum, helping students understand key scientific concepts while encouraging curiosity and problem-solving. You will support students’ academic development and create a classroom environment where learners feel confident asking questions and exploring new ideas.

Responsibilities:

    • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the national curriculum
    • Encourage curiosity and support students in developing analytical and investigative skills
    • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
    • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and encourage active participation
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and department goals

Requirements:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
    • Previous experience teaching science in a secondary school setting is desirable
    • Strong classroom management and communication skills
    • A passion for inspiring students and promoting interest in science
