Support Pupils in Ashington as a Pastoral Care Officer – Make a Meaningful Impact
Location: Ashington
Salary: £90 – £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

Key Responsibilities of a Pastoral Care Officer:

  • Provide emotional and pastoral support to pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Assist in implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may face social or emotional challenges
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral leaders, and external agencies
  • Support with attendance, behaviour tracking, and pastoral records

Requirements for a Pastoral Care Officer:

  • Experience supporting children or young people in a pastoral, mentoring, or wellbeing role
  • Strong communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain calm, approachable, and resilient
  • A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
