Job Title: Graduate Cover Supervisor
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education?
If so, GSL Education are seeking confident and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisors to work across schools in Middlesbrough. This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching or education.
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students remain engaged and on task. You will gain invaluable classroom management experience while supporting students’ academic progress in a structured school environment.
As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will be:
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students complete assigned work
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support students with their learning and respond to general questions
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and conduct
- Ensure a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Assist with general school duties where required
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
What we need:
- A recent graduate with a degree in any subject like Psychology, Social Care, SEN, Education, Sports, Science etc.
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence leading and managing groups of students
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
