Salary: Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale (Plus the Possibility of a TLR Point)

Are you an experienced Science Teacher looking for a permanent role from September 2026?
GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary setting in Hackney on a permanent basis.
As a Teacher of Science, you have to deliver high-quality science education and raise student attainment across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. A TLR responsibility may be available for the right candidate looking to take on additional leadership duties.
Science Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and high ability
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement planning
- Support enrichment activities, intervention sessions, or extracurricular science programmes
- Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to the wider school community
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Degree in a Science-related subject
- Previous experience working as Science Teacher across secondary schools.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
