Salary: Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale (Plus the Possibility of a TLR Point)

Are you an experienced Science Teacher looking for a permanent role from September 2026?

GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary setting in Hackney on a permanent basis.

As a Teacher of Science, you have to deliver high-quality science education and raise student attainment across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. A TLR responsibility may be available for the right candidate looking to take on additional leadership duties.

Science Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and high ability
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement planning
  • Support enrichment activities, intervention sessions, or extracurricular science programmes
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to the wider school community

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Degree in a Science-related subject
  • Previous experience working as Science Teacher across secondary schools.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
