Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Secondary
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Payrate: £100+ per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
Provide steady guidance and positive role modelling to secondary students who need additional emotional and behavioural support!
GSL Education are recruiting a resilient and committed Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA -Secondary) to work in schools in Dinnington, covering the S25 area. This role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies.
Main Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary):
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for secondary students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in implementing behaviour management and intervention plans.
- Support students in managing emotions and building resilience.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to adapt learning where required.
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary):
- Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
