We have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school in  Redbridge, London. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced educators, gain valuable classroom experience, and support students in reaching their full potential.

Here are some key responsibilities you would typically have as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Individualised Support: Work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs, providing tailored support and adapting teaching materials to meet their unique requirements.
• Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring that all students are included and supported in their learning activities.
• Behaviour Management: Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respectful behaviour and implementing strategies to support student engagement.
• Monitoring Progress: Observe and report on student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans.
• Personal Care: Support students with personal care needs when required, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the school day.
• Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
• Extracurricular Involvement: Contribute to the wider school community by assisting in extracurricular activities, helping to foster student engagement and personal development.
• Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with additional needs.

The successful candidate for SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Graduate SEN TA with strong classroom management skills
  • Previous experience working as a TA or in a similar role.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver pre-set lesson plans effectively.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A valid DBS registered on the update service.
  • 2-3 professional references covering a minimum of 2-3 years of employment history.
  • Must be available for an immediate interview and start date.
