Job Title: Sports Coach Background – Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term / Day-to-Day

Are you a Sports Coach, Personal Trainer, or Fitness Professional looking to transition into education? Your skills in leadership, motivation, and behaviour management are highly valued in schools across Sheffield.

We are currently recruiting individuals from sports and fitness backgrounds to work in schools as Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors. While occasional sports-based roles may become available, the majority of opportunities will involve classroom-based support and lesson supervision.

About the Role:

In this role, you may support students within lessons as a Teaching Assistant or supervise whole classes as a Cover Supervisor, delivering pre-set work in the absence of a teacher. Your coaching experience will translate effectively into maintaining structure, encouraging participation, and promoting positive behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students across a variety of subjects and key stages
• Deliver pre-planned lessons confidently as a Cover Supervisor
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Encourage engagement, teamwork, and resilience
• Provide guidance and pastoral support to pupils
• Act as a strong, positive role model within the school environment

Requirements:

• Background in Sports Coaching, Fitness Training, or a related field
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
• Confidence leading and managing groups
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude
