Job Title: Sports Coach Background – Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor Opportunities

Salary: £460 – £650 per week

Are you a Sports Coach or Fitness Professional looking to move into a school-based role?
We are currently recruiting individuals from sports coaching and fitness backgrounds to work in schools as Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors. Your experience leading groups, promoting positive behaviour, and engaging young people translates extremely well into the classroom.
While some sports coaching placements may arise, the majority of opportunities will be classroom-based, supporting learning or supervising lessons in the absence of a teacher.

You’ll be working in supportive and inclusive school environments where staff collaborate to ensure students feel engaged, motivated, and well supported. Schools place a strong focus on wellbeing, behaviour support, and positive role modelling.
About the Role
In this role, you may work as a Teaching Assistant supporting students in lessons, or as a Cover Supervisor delivering pre-set lessons when teachers are absent. Your coaching background will be valuable in managing behaviour, building rapport, and encouraging participation.
Key Responsibilities
• Support students across a range of subjects
• Deliver pre-planned lessons as a Cover Supervisor
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Encourage engagement and positive participation
• Provide guidance and support to pupils
• Act as a positive role model within the school
Requirements
• Background in Sports Coaching, Fitness Training, or similar
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable)
• Confident leading groups
• Strong communication skills
• Adaptable and proactive approach
