Salary: £460 – £600 per week

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide targeted support for students with SEMH needs. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives.
Responsibilities:
• Support students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one and small group basis, promoting engagement and positive participation in lessons.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and behaviour support strategies.
• Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised support programmes.
• Promote emotional regulation and positive coping strategies within the classroom environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence and independence.
• Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and well-being in line with school policies.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience supporting students with SEMH or additional needs in a school or similar setting is desirable.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
• A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting young people.
