Job Title: Primary Teacher – Maternity Cover
Location: Grimsby
Contract Type: Full-time | Fixed-term (May 2026 – July 2026)
Salary: Paid to scale (dependent on experience)
GSL Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Grimsby on a maternity cover basis. This full-time role will begin in May 2026 and continue until the end of the academic year in July 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher to step into a supportive school environment and make a positive impact during the summer term. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a KS1 class, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high standards of teaching and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging KS1 lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to parents and senior leaders
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider staff team
- Maintain safeguarding and behaviour expectations in line with school policy
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within KS1
- Strong classroom management skills
- A creative and child-centred approach to learning
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
