Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S11)
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher ready to inspire a love of literature and language?

GSL Education are seeking a committed English Teacher to work in schools across Sheffield (S11), delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across key stages 3, 4 and 5.

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative and structured lessons in line with the national curriculum. You will support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills while fostering confidence and academic progress in a supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across key stages 3, 4 and 5
  • Teach a broad range of texts including prose, poetry, and drama
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations and assessments
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Maintain effective classroom behaviour management
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, English Literature, or a related field
  • Experience as an English Teacher is desirable
  • Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
