Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time 

Support pupils’ emotional, social, and mental health while helping them succeed academically and personally.

GSL Education are excited to recruit an SEMH Teacher to work with a school in the Wakefield (WF4) area, providing specialist support to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

In this role, the Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher will plan and deliver tailored lessons and interventions, fostering resilience, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning within a nurturing classroom environment.

Core Role Expectations of SEMH Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEMH requirements.
  • Support pupils’ social and emotional development alongside academic progress.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and pastoral teams to implement effective strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
