Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time 

Are you passionate about literature and language, and eager to inspire pupils to develop their reading, writing, and communication skills?

GSL Education are searching for an experienced English Teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, inspiring pupils to develop their skills and confidence across schools in Barnsley and within the surrounding S70–S71 areas.

In this role, the English Teacher will plan and teach lessons that build literacy, critical thinking, and creative expression, while fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver well-prepared English lessons aligned with the curriculum.
  • Encourage reading, writing, discussion, and analytical thinking.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support wider learning goals.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working as an English Teacher in a school setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting learners of all abilities.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
