Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham (S25)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and emotional development. This role provides the opportunity to implement personalised strategies, support classroom engagement, and contribute to the holistic development of students with SEMH needs.

Responsibilities:
- Implement personalised learning plans and strategies tailored to each student’s needs, promoting independence and growth.
- Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a structured learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust, confidence, and engagement.
- Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and participation, maintaining accurate reports.
- Assist with emotional regulation, social skills development, and wellbeing support.
- Collaborate with staff and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective student support.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to help students engage fully in classroom and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs in a school or similar environment is preferred.
- Understanding of SEMH strategies, behaviour management, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to the varying needs of students and respond positively to challenges.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting student development and wellbeing.
