SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay: Up to £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are recruiting an experienced Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teacher to work with pupils who require additional support with social, emotional, and mental health needs for schools across Sheffield (S2, S3). This is a role suited to an educator who can balance structure, empathy, and consistency.


About the SEMH Teacher Position

You will be teaching pupils who benefit from a highly supportive and flexible approach, helping them re-engage with education while developing emotional regulation, confidence, and positive behaviours.


What You’ll Be Doing as a SEMH Teacher

  • Deliver adapted lessons to meet SEMH needs
  • Create a safe, predictable, and encouraging classroom environment
  • Use trauma-informed and restorative strategies to support behaviour
  • Support pupils’ emotional development and self-regulation
  • Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals

What We’re Seeking

  • QTS or relevant teaching qualification
  • Proven experience working with SEMH pupils
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • A calm, resilient, and reflective teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
