SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who wants to play a hands-on role in supporting pupils with additional needs across schools in Sheffield (S2 and S3). Every day will be different, and your support will be key to helping pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.


The Role in Focus

You will be working closely with individual pupils and small groups, offering practical and emotional support to help them access the curriculum and develop confidence both in and out of the classroom as a SEN TA.


What You’ll Be Involved in as a SEN TA

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Helping pupils manage routines, transitions, and learning tasks
  • Supporting behaviour, communication, and emotional regulation
  • Encouraging independence and positive engagement
  • Feeding back to teachers and SEN staff on pupil progress

What We’re Hoping You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience supporting SEN or vulnerable learners
  • A calm, reliable, and understanding approach
  • Confidence working in challenging situations when needed
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
