Job Title: Behaviour Support/Mentor
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: £460-£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract type: Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are recruiting a Behaviour Support/Mentor to work within schools in Wakefield, WF4, supporting pupils who need guidance with behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
As a Behaviour Support/Mentor, you will build trusting relationships with pupils, helping them understand expectations, manage challenges, and develop strategies that support learning and personal growth.
Prime Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group behavioural support.
- Implement behaviour strategies and agreed intervention plans.
- Encourage positive choices, self-regulation, and emotional awareness.
- Support pupils during challenging moments and key transitions.
- Record progress and communicate updates with relevant staff.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in a school or support role, ideally as a Behaviour Support/Mentor.
- A degree in Education, Psychology, SEN or CACHE Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is desirable but not mandatory.
- A clear understanding of behaviour management approaches.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, consistent, and professional manner.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
