PMLD Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Lincoln. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with a background in care or previous experience supporting people with complex needs, who are passionate about helping young learners reach their full potential.
About the Role:
You will be supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), many of whom have additional physical, sensory or medical needs. The role involves providing hands-on, personalised support, assisting with communication, and ensuring students can access a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience within care or a similar support setting is essential.

Confidence working with individuals with complex physical, medical or sensory needs.

Someone available to work full-time, Monday–Friday.

A patient, empathetic and resilient approach, with the ability to build strong and positive relationships with pupils.

Willingness to support with personal care, mobility and communication, where required.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD.

Assisting with personal care, feeding, hoisting and mobility routines (training may be provided).

Supporting pupils with sensory activities, communication aids and therapeutic interventions.

Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support professionals to deliver tailored learning plans.

Helping create a calm, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
