Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
Are you an energetic and motivated Sports Coach with a passion for inspiring young people through physical activity? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Sports Coach to join a supportive school environment in Barnsley (S70, S71) from January 2026.
As a Sports Coach, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality sports sessions, promoting teamwork, improving fitness, and helping pupils develop confidence both on and off the field. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in coaching, PE support, youth sports, or physical education who is keen to motivate students and encourage a positive attitude towards health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions to pupils across different age groups.
- Support PE teachers with lesson delivery, planning, and behaviour management.
- Encourage pupils to participate, build confidence, and develop key physical skills.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive learning attitude.
- Assist with extra-curricular clubs, lunchtime activities, or school sports events.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working as a Sports Coach or in a similar physical activity role.
- Strong communication and motivational skills.
- A positive, energetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Ability to manage groups effectively and confidently.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A passion for promoting physical education and healthy lifestyles.
