Job Title: Drama Teacher
Location: Barnsley, (S70, S71)
Pay Rate: Upto £200 per day (based on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you a creative and enthusiastic Drama Teacher passionate about inspiring students through performance and the arts?
GSL Education are appointing a dedicated Drama Teacher to a welcoming school in Barnsley, (S70, S71). You will inspire pupils through engaging Key Stage lessons, promoting confidence, effective communication, and a genuine enthusiasm for drama.
Responsibilities as a Drama Teacher:
- Plan and deliver imaginative Drama lessons that nurture creativity and self-expression.
- Teach a range of dramatic techniques, performance skills, and stagecraft.
- Prepare students for practical and written assessments.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel confident to perform.
- Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and reflective learning.
- Contribute to school productions, workshops, and enrichment activities.
Requirements for Drama Teacher:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Strong subject knowledge in Drama and Performing Arts is desirable.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Passion for engaging students and promoting the arts.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
