Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN)? A rewarding opportunity awaits you in Burley, where GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join a local school as a SEN Support Assistant.

About the Role:

As a SEN Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping students overcome learning challenges and develop essential life skills. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide tailored support to students with communication and emotional regulation needs.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility requirements where necessary.
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individualised support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to care and support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN or therapeutic support (advantageous).

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Support Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years.
  • Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
