Job Title: Behaviour Support/Mentor
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: £95–£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate Start/Jan 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a patient, calm, and supportive Behaviour Support/Mentor to work within secondary schools across the S2 and S3 postcodes. This role is ideal for someone who can build positive relationships and provide guidance to students who need extra support to stay focused and succeed in school.

You will play an important part in creating a stable and encouraging environment, working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to help students develop confidence, self-control, and better learning habits.

Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support/Mentor:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students displaying behavioural or emotional challenges.
  • Help pupils regulate their behaviour using agreed strategies and restorative approaches.
  • Work alongside teachers to maintain a calm and productive classroom atmosphere.
  • Offer guidance, encouragement, and practical support to promote positive choices.
  • Assist with behaviour plans and contribute to progress reviews where required.
  • Monitor incidents, keep accurate records, and follow safeguarding procedures.

Prime Requirements of a Behaviour Support/Mentor:

  • Previous experience supporting young people, ideally in a school or behaviour-focused role.
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build trust and motivate students to improve.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A genuine interest in supporting the emotional and behavioural development of young people.
