Job Title: Behaviour Specialism Teacher
Location: Blandford
Salary: £31,650 – £49,084 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you a dedicated and resilient educator with a passion for supporting pupils with behavioural needs? GSL Education are seeking a committed Behaviour Specialism Teacher to join a nurturing and forward-thinking school environment in Blandford.
As a Behaviour Specialism Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, helping them re-engage with learning and develop positive strategies for success both in and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs.
- Implement behaviour regulation strategies and de-escalation techniques effectively.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage positive attitudes toward learning.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams.
- Support students’ emotional wellbeing, resilience, and social development.
- Develop personalised behaviour support plans and monitor progress.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with pupils with behavioural, SEMH, or additional needs.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and behaviour intervention strategies.
- Patience, resilience, and a commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
