Job Title: Educational Assistant
Location: Bovington
Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you a patient, supportive, and motivated individual who enjoys helping students succeed? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant to join a welcoming school environment in Bovington.
As an Educational Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning, encourage positive behaviour, and help students access educational activities in a safe and inclusive environment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in classroom support, SEN settings, or youth work who are passionate about making a difference in students’ learning and development.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in the classroom with learning activities and daily routines.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students stay focused and engaged.
- Assist with social, emotional, and behavioural needs as required.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and participation in all school activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in education, classroom support, SEN support, or working with children/young people.
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to helping students succeed.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to follow school guidelines.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent experience is desirable.
