Salary Scale: £13.68 to £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a reliable and empathetic SEN Support Worker to join a supportive care and education setting in the Dorchester area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, experience in care, or a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals.

About the Role:
You will provide personalised support to individuals with special educational needs, helping them with daily routines, promoting independence, and ensuring their wellbeing and safety. You will encourage engagement, deliver structured support plans, and help create a nurturing environment where service users feel valued and respected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personalised Care: Provide practical and emotional support based on individual needs.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist with routines, learning activities, and community access.
  • Behaviour & Emotional Support: Use supportive strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional stability.
  • Progress Monitoring: Record key observations and communicate updates to senior staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals.

To succeed as an SEN Support Worker, you will need:

  • Previous experience in care, education, or supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to follow personalised plans.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to meeting individual needs.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
