Salary Scale: £13.68 to £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a reliable and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in the Wareham area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, experience in schools, or a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
About the Role:
You will provide tailored one-to-one assistance to a specific pupil, helping them engage in learning activities, building their confidence, and ensuring their academic and emotional development. You will encourage participation, follow structured support plans, and help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personalised Support: Provide focused academic and emotional assistance based on the pupil’s needs.
- Daily Learning Assistance: Help with class tasks, adapted resources, and individual learning activities.
- Behaviour & Emotional Support: Use supportive strategies to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and self-esteem.
- Progress Monitoring: Record key observations and communicate updates to teachers and SEN staff.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
To succeed as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Previous experience in a school, support role, or working with children with additional needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a trusting relationship with pupils.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in following support plans.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
