Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Poole
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time
Start Date: January 2026
GSL Education are working with a supportive and inclusive school in Poole that is dedicated to providing high-quality education for students with a range of special educational needs. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join the school from January. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating positive learning experiences and helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the varying needs of students with SEN.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
- Develop, review, and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to support their development.
- Work alongside support staff and external professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality provision.
- Use positive behaviour management techniques to encourage engagement and emotional well-being.
- Contribute to the wider school community and ongoing professional development.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching or supporting students with special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including differentiation and behaviour support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families.
- A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to teaching.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
