GSL Education is seeking a confident and committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Grantham. This role involves working closely with students who present challenging behaviour and have a range of SEND needs, helping them engage positively in education and daily routines.
The Role:

Support pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis

Use de-escalation techniques, emotional regulation strategies, and personalised behaviour plans

Build strong, trusting relationships to promote safety, engagement, and resilience

Assist teachers in maintaining a structured and supportive classroom environment

Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and self-esteem

Manage challenging situations calmly and consistently
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience working with challenging behaviour is essential
-
Background in SEND, youth work, residential care, or SEMH settings is highly beneficial
-
Confident, patient, and able to remain composed under pressure
-
Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach

Full-time availability

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
