Learning Support Assistant – Scunthorpe
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £89 – £105 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

GSL Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Scunthorpe, providing essential support to students with additional learning and behavioural needs.
This is a full-time, long-term role, ideal for someone passionate about helping children reach their full potential through patience, encouragement, and consistency.
The Role:

Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including learning difficulties and SEMH challenges.

Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.

Provide 1:1 or small-group support to promote learning and emotional wellbeing.

Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, supportive classroom environment.

Liaise with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Previous school-based or care experience is essential.

Understanding of supporting students with additional or complex needs.

Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning and behaviour support.

Confident in building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
