About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil requiring individualised support. This role provides the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on a child’s learning, behaviour, and overall development. You will work alongside teachers and the SEN team to implement personalised learning plans and promote inclusion in the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, ensuring access to the curriculum.

  • Assist in delivering learning activities tailored to the pupil’s individual needs.

  • Support behaviour management and help the pupil develop social and emotional skills.

  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as required.

  • Assist with personal care where needed, maintaining the pupil’s dignity and safety.

  • Maintain accurate records of observations, interventions, and achievements.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a SEN Support Assistant or Learning Support role, preferably 1:1.

  • Knowledge of SEN strategies, differentiation, and inclusion practices.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, pupils, and parents.

  • Ability to adapt activities and approaches to meet individual learning needs.

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection within a school environment.
