Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Felpham
Pay Rate: £90 – £95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils with additional needs in a warm and inclusive school setting?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school within Felpham. This role offers the chance to make a genuine impact on pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and confidence by providing tailored classroom and small-group support.

As an SEN TA, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated activities and targeted interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils’ independence and engagement.
  • Provide emotional, social, and academic support both in and out of the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals.
  • Help maintain a nurturing, structured, and safe learning environment.

Requirements for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to individualised support.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow personalised support plans and behaviour strategies.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
