Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rustington
Pay Rate: £90 – £95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact on pupils with additional learning needs?

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEND TA to join a welcoming and inclusive school within Rustington. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils’ academic progress, social development, and overall wellbeing through tailored and compassionate assistance.

As a SEND TA, you will:

  • Provide focused support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Assist teachers with delivering adapted lessons and personalised interventions.
  • Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.

Requirements for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to one-to-one and group support.
  • Confident communication and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
