SEN Outreach Tutor
Location: Newham
Pay: £20 – £30 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-time | Immediate Start

This is a rewarding opportunity for a SEN Outreach Tutor to work with students across Newham, providing tailored one-to-one support outside of traditional classroom settings.
As a SEN Outreach Tutor, you’ll work with children and young people who have a range of special educational needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your aim will be to help each learner build confidence, independence, and academic progress through engaging and personalised sessions.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver individualised learning plans that meet each pupil’s specific SEN requirements.

Support pupils in developing literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.

Adapt teaching strategies to engage learners with varying abilities and emotional needs.

Record progress and provide regular feedback to parents, schools, and the local authority.

Create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment that encourages consistent learning.
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as an SEN Outreach Tutor or teaching students with additional needs.

A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

Strong knowledge of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with families and education professionals.

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
