Individual Needs Assistant
Location: Lancing
Salary: £90 – £95 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to provide essential support to students in schools across Lancing.
As an Individual Needs Assistant, you will work closely with students who require extra academic, emotional, or behavioural support. Your role will involve assisting in classroom activities, promoting positive learning experiences, and helping students develop confidence and independence.
Responsibilities of an Individual Needs Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour in a positive way.
- Help students understand and complete classroom tasks effectively.
- Implement strategies and interventions as directed by teachers and SENCOs.
- Foster a caring, safe, and inclusive environment for all learners.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback.
Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not essential).
- Previous experience supporting students with additional or special educational needs.
- A patient, understanding, and empathetic attitude towards children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive educational team.
- A proactive approach to helping students reach their full potential.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
