Individual Needs Assistant
Location: Chichester
Salary: £90 – £95 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to support students in schools across Chichester.

About the Role:

As an Individual Needs Assistant (INA), you will work closely with students who need extra help in their learning journey. You will provide one-to-one or small group support, helping them engage with the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential social and emotional skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Support students with their personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in learning.
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet specific student needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure consistent support.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reports.

Individual Needs Assistant Requirements:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience supporting students with special or additional learning needs.
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
