Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Hoyland (S74)
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH TA to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Hoyland (S74). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping children overcome emotional and behavioural challenges, develop coping skills, and achieve academic and personal growth.
As an SEMH TA, you will:
- Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them stay engaged and focused in class.
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and implementing personalised learning and behaviour plans.
- Promote a calm, positive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages pupils’ emotional wellbeing and resilience.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them develop confidence and social skills.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support and progress.
Requirements for the SEMH Teaching Assistant role:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (school or care setting experience desirable).
- Strong communication, behaviour management, and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with pupils facing challenges.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any employment gaps.
