Salary: £140 – £200 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a specialist school in Scunthorpe, supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with learning, develop key literacy skills, and build confidence in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages, tailored to meet individual learning needs.

Inspire students to express themselves creatively and develop essential communication skills.

Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning through differentiated teaching and positive behaviour strategies.

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and SENCOs to ensure student progress and wellbeing.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Previous experience working with students displaying challenging behaviour or within an SEMH/alternative provision setting (desirable).

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.

Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
