Salary: £140 – £200 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a passionate and resilient English Teacher ready to make a positive impact in the lives of young people?
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a specialist school in Scunthorpe, supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with learning, develop key literacy skills, and build confidence in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages, tailored to meet individual learning needs.

  • Inspire students to express themselves creatively and develop essential communication skills.

  • Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning through differentiated teaching and positive behaviour strategies.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and SENCOs to ensure student progress and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Previous experience working with students displaying challenging behaviour or within an SEMH/alternative provision setting (desirable).

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.

  • Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, term time only.

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
